Police Certificate and Long Form Birth Certificate

Hi,

I have my interview on Nov 20 and was wondering if the police certificate I have dated June 24/09 would be OK or should I suck it up and pay the $40 for a newer one with a more recent date?

Also, I received a certified, stamped and sealed copy of my long form birth certificate from the government of Ontario. This is a copy, but I couldn't see how you would be able to obtain the original birth certificate from them. I'm sure this will be OK at the interview, right? I'm not the only Ontarian that has used this document right?

Your police certificate should be ok. if you rinterview is next month than the police certificate in only a few months old. You're fine

Your long form birth cert. that is the one from the province right? It should be on manilla paper with the Ontario seal...that's what you mean by the copy right. That one is fine

The police certificates in Canada are good for a year.

If your BC is a certified stamped and sealed copy, then that is what they call the "original". No problem at all.

Hi, doing the same here in BC -- but am confused about which document they want. I'm assuming Long Form = certified true copy of Birth Registration? Can anyone verify that for me?

Long form has your parent's name on it, I am only familiar with the one from Ontario - which is the registration of live birth.
