So, I'm in Ottawa, and I went with the Ottawa Police Department. They have this form on their website. Here's the link so you can see what my paper looked like.

http://www.ottawapolice.ca/en/serving_otta...cords_check.pdf

I inputted my information on a printed form and then went to the station and they stamped it for me after checking that I was 'clear' on their system. It took 5 mins and cost $40.00.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Never even heard of it lol ours is called a police certificate and in the search section said " nothing " where it came up out of the printer and cost 47$.

Where are you getting yours from? What Province? is it from the RCMP?

I wouldn't worry too much about the certificates looking the same because I am pretty sure they are all different.. mine was just a computer printout that has the RCMP logo on it and it was signed by one of the RCMP guys.. it didn't really look official at all

Well its not really about it being the same but more of it being the right thing she needs from the police.

I did a search on that and nothing came up for that except for it meaning that they verified an existed record against someone, or its a paper verifying the person exists and not a police record.

I got one from the York regional police...I think I paid 40 bucks for it. The only main requirement is that it states that the national repository was searched. Mine says something along the lines of "As you requested a search of the national repository showed no outstanding warrants, criminal charges blah blah blah...."

Maybe go back to the police station or to the RCMP station near you and ask again just to make sure? It would be worth it if you have the time to do that and get it sorted out before the interview and stuff.

As long as it indicates that some kind of national database was searched it should be ok. Mine said, "a national name check has been preformed" or something along those lines.

I went to local police as well. Mine I guess is 'sort of' official looking. What does yours actually say? Mine says "does not have a criminal record with the London Police Service" and another part says "does not have a criminal record in the RCMP National Repository for Criminal Records in Canada".

Does yours say anything along those lines?
