Regarding the wedding questions at interview

Hi folks,

Another question about the interview is Leo and I will be having a courtroom ceremony to rush the 90 day requirement as we can't afford the wedding we want now with all the visa/plane ticket/relocation costs. We are planning to have our real fancy wedding in Hawaii next year once we've saved up enough. All the research is done, no reservations made yet of course. I have printed out the wedding package vendor webpage, our vacation rental, our venue for wedding reception and other misc things needed for the wedding as well as a preliminary guess list and budget list, wedding ring receipt and a sample of wedding favors I am making here to take with me there.

My question is when they ask at the interview what our wedding plans are, do we mention both or just Hawaii? I was advised not to mention the courthouse for reasons unknown and talk about Hawaii but since it's so far away from now I feel like I am lying by omission.

They can't honestly expect us to be able to afford a fancy wedding and have it all done in 90 days of me landing when we don't even have a date and can't because of the visa. It's impossible.

So what advice do you folks have? Will mentioning a courthouse somehow be a bad decision for whatever reason?

You have answered your own question. Speak the truth.
