Timeline

I personally think they ask for the timeline because they have guidelines they have to follow and one of them is to ask for a timeline if they are unable to issue a pink at the interview. Now why may this be so? Say that they have a bureaucracy in place at the consulate. I do know they have daily meetings in the morns and should also in the afternoons. They more than likely go over the cases and the superiors are the ones that make the final call on if the pink is issued that day( Of course if the interview went well) or they are told to issue a blue slip asking for the notorious timeline or list of relatives so they can go to their superiors and then are told to issue a pink or another blue when the person shows up for Appt. Now some come in before interview date and get the pink at that time.

This is what happened with my at the time fiancee. She had interviewed with the famous Korean lady and the interview was tough and was issued the blue for a timeline and list of relatives. 8 days later and almost 3 weeks early from the interview date she went back and turned in the requested paperwork and the lady never even looked at the timeline or list except to see that it was what was asked for and then asked her what she would do when she got to the U.S. and smiled and handed her the pink. It was nothing but a stall tactic before. After her interviews that days she went to whoever it was that ok's them and was told who to issue pink or a blue. Luckily we got a pink.

Now not too long ago many blues were issued and at that time also I was told that a higher up was on vacation and gone for about a month. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not. The pinks are pretty much decided before the interview date even comes up and the blues the same. One can try their damndest to figure out the system and overcome it but the system is there and they will follow their system. Go ahead and buck the system. These are bureaucrats through and through. I was a lower level bureaucrat for awhile and trust me when I say that I could do nothing that my superiors said I couldn't.
