Hello Everyone! Maybe I am misreading but I have reveiwed packet 3 and packet 4 instructions (we just received packet 3 and packet 4 is copy from a post here). Both instructions refer to DS230 Part 1 but there is no mention of Part 2 in the instructions. Am I missing something or over interpreting what I am reading.

Sorry, I have read many threads and done searches and I can not seem to find the answer to this question!

Good Luck to everyone with upcoming interviews and to all those in AP. I send my best wishes to the stars every night for all of us!

Thanks,

Bernie

I was wondering about this, as well. The instructions on the form say that part 2 is not submitted until the interview, and it has to be signed in front of the CO. However, the DS-230 is an immigrant visa application, and the K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa, so the form isn't strictly required by DoS policy. Many consulates don't ask for the DS-230, either part 1 or part 2, for a K1 application.

Hopefully, someone who has already been through the K1 interview will respond. If not, I would play it safe and fill out part 2 and bring it to the interview. As the instructions on the form indicate, don't sign it until instructed to do so by the CO.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Part II is not required. It is not in any of the instructions or on the list to bring on interview day. I did not include it in our package and it was not asked for. Only Part I is referred to in both Packets 3 and 4 and Part I is all that is required.

Thank You - I do belive that this section ends up being covered in the DS-156 and 156K and is not required for the DS-230 Part 2. However we are going to fill it out and put it in the folder.

Part II for CR1 only, if I am correct, not for K1.

On the DS-230 I wouldn't think you need to put the name of your son on that form since he could technically go to the US without you since he is US citizen.

That's correct, no need to put your son name there. He is USC.
