Then there is a glimmer of hope that e-mailed the ds-230 last week. Let us hope, because my 8 days is in a few days. I was figureing they woudlnt get to it for atleast 2 weeks, like the other things. Though I must say, the AVR does have me confused. It says that the NVC has all my documents, and to allow 6-8 weeks for a decision to be reached, so perhaps they have my I-864 and DS-230. But the e-mail they sent me was requesting my DS-230. Lol I dont know!

FireRay - I got the same email about requesting the DS-230 almost a week after I sent it in. So I sent it in again.. Hope that doesn't mess things up. It also said that a I-864 was required but I didn't resubmit it since the email was more focused on the DS-230..

We submitted the DS-230 on the same day so let me know when you hear something. Thanks!

Seems right now they are running 8 - 11 days after receiving your last set of docs, barring any REF's of course.

OK, I have resubmitted both sets of docs. Let's see if they receive them this time...how long did it take for them to update the AVR that your docs had been received, everyone?

I just checked the AVR for the first time since Friday. It's updated now - "your documents have been received and please wait 6-8 weeks for review". I sent the DS-230 in last Monday so that's a week or so for them to update AVR.

That said, NVC sent me an email from NVCInquiry (which in itself is strange) requesting me to send in the DS-230. See below..

Good Lord. Do you ever feel like we are just spinning our wheels? I keep imagining some sadistic person inside the EP NVC department giggling evilly, rubbing his hands together, and sending us random emails.

I know! They enjoy confusing us I think. Anyway, at least there is some consistency between FireRay and my case with AVR and the random emails (requesting the DS-230)!

We re-sent the I-864 and for the first time sent in the DS-230 on the 12th (in two seperate emails), and on the 13th the AVR said it had received documents. I have never received an auto-response email or any emails asking for either of those documents. We are giving it until this Thurs or Fri then will call in and ask for a supervisor to find out what they have received. All this uncertainity is driving me nuts!!

Good luck with that. My experience is that they will just tell you that they know nothing. Push them to put an info request in with EP if they say they can't give you any info. And report back! Any info is golden, with this process.

Good luck with that, They tell me "They see that something is there, but they dont know what" And that if they are missing any information they will let me know what it is.

In asking what my AVR message ment in the NVC thread, they told me it ment that everything was at the nvc and to just sit back and wait now.

I'm fully expecting an email from NVC requesting the DS 230 package and I'll have to decide what to do. Earlier this evening, I called NVC and spoke wth an operator who told me NVC has received two packages from me, one on Apr 16th and the other today (Dec 19th). This relates to the I 864 and DS230. So NVC has everything - so will NVC also send a request for the documents they apparently have??? Probably.

She said at this stage is more waiting and that NVC is processing. If they require additional information they will send a checklist of everything required. If not, then the case gets processed, she said in about two to four weeks, although this is probably a very conservative number. I can remember being told it'll take five months to get NOA2 approved (Jan) and instead of May it got approved in March. So it's probably just a conservative educated estimate. She also advised me to follow up by the end of next week if I haven't heard.

It'll be the case of the log in fail that'll likely advise us all.

I asked further about NVC contacting us with an interview and the timeframe etc; She said NVC will only contact us after they have arranged the interview with the consulate. And that interviews are typically set up by NVC during the second week of each month, sometimes spilling over into the third week of every month. For example, May interviews are scheduled the second week of April, maybe slightly into the third week of April. June interviews are scheduled the second week of May etc etc. And it's hard to know how many people get scheduled so that could also bump up a month - she didn't say that but I'm thinking about this as I type this note.

For those of us trying to complete in late April or possibly early May, it's likely June or July ...possibly even August or even later. The trick of course, is for NVC to complete our cases.

If married2009 is correct, as well as others, NVC seems to be taking about 8 - 11 days to close the case after receiving all the documents and in the absence of an RFE. Mind you, there are others that have been waiting well over a month and still no NVC case complete.

Good luck to us all.

Ok, well I got the email from NVC late this afternoon requesting the DS230. I called and spoke with an operator...same person I had yesterday and we both remembered lol.

So here's the scoop. Because those of us have opted into the EP program, those emails are automatically generated. That means that if you pay your AOS bill and send the I 864 then pay your IV bill and send the DS230, the system, because of EP, will send out those emails requesting those documents regardless if you're sent them or not. It doesn't mean NVC doesn't have them and that the email is the formal request. Had we NOT sent the documents in after paying the bills, they would be emailed; when we do send them in, the emails get sent in anyway. that's the mystery solved then. This explains the OPTIN and DS3032 as well, although that's a matter or having to get confirmation on the EP first. I didn't discuss the OPTIN issue with her given that I'm now past it.

She confirmed that all my docs were in at NVC and were being processed. She recommended against resending the DS230. So now it's the hurry up and wait. Either they send an RFE and a checklist of what is missing and required or NVC closes the case.

So for those that have sent the documents and are getting emails from NVC requesting those very same documents, you can either send them or know they are there and not bother resending. however before not sending you may wish to confirm with NVC that your docs are, in fact, there.

Good luck to all of us !!
