Good day, fellow VJ'ers,

Just want to ask about going to USEmbassy to get Legal Capacity to Marry, will my future hubby just need to show his passport and birth certificate and pay the $30? and mine the annulment papers (Decision and Finality with the annotation)....will settle on MOnday, i appreciate your replies....

The passport is the only document needed. The US Embassy only issues affidavits from 8 to 10 AM. We got there at 7 AM and then went directly to the local civil registry to apply for the Marriage Certificate. Remember there is a ten working day hold on the Marriage Certificate.

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

If he was previously married then he will need a certified copy of the Final Divorce Decree. This is usually 1 or 2 pages and is the actual order signed by the judge which dissolved the marriage. It must have the embossed seal of the Clerk of the court where it was filed also.


Must have info for bringing your Philippine wife/fiancee's child to the US

i was there and there were 30 others with me and no one had to show anything but the passport only, i took my ex wife death cert, bc and other papers but they only make me oath and pay the money and that was it , good luck abby n sheryl

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
