Hi,

I have applied almost 3 weeks ago for a new police certificate. I do have an old one from April 2008 in the file but the new one hasn't arrived and my interview is on Monday in Vancouver. The flight is already booked and can not be cancelled. I have every other possible piece of information they could possibly need. I do have the receipt that it is paid for but not received. What are my chances? Advice would be great even if it is not what I would like to hear.

2010-10-16: EAD in hand!

2010-10-23: SSN Received in normal post!!

2010-10-18(Day 1): Mailed again :)

2011-03-17(Day 159): Interview - Review file response

2011-03-18(Day 160): Card production email/text for Green Card!

2011-03-21(Day 163): Welcome to USA letter received

2011-03-22(Day 164): Another text for card production! Start printing GC?

2011-03-23(Day 165): Text/email moving into post decision activity! Mail GC?

2011-03-26(Day 168): GC in hand and done for 3-10 years depending on the citizenship decision...Still unsure!

N400 - Dallas Lock box

2017-02-13(Day 1): Finally made the decision to apply for citizenship. Package went in mail

2017-02-16(Day 4): 1st NOA "went background checks are complete interview will be scheduled" no mention of Biometrics

2017-03-03(Day 15) Biometrics letter arrives scheduled for 2017-03-13 Might try a walk in earlier

I am not sure. I guess the consulate might wonder why you sent the checklist as complete when you didn't have all the information. Hopefully the interviewer will let you submit it at a later date. Good luck and I hope it comes today. I am not sure where you live, but where I live in Northern BC, I just went into the RCMP station and they did it right while I was standing there. Maybe they might be willing to do that for you if you explain the situation.

I'm in Manitoba and I was told that the police certificate didn't have an expiry date by the issuing agent. It was only after I realized it would be in my benefit to get another. I might try to see if I can go to a place outside of Winnipeg to get it done today?

Yes some RCMP units will do it on the spot - worth a try.

While there is really no expiry date, the police certificate (in Canada for U.S. immigration purposes) is good for 12 months.

If you can't get one before your interview, do take the expired one, of course and the receipt for the new one. Worse case scenario, if they otherwise approve your visa they will ask you to submit the police certificate before they will actually send the visa out to you.

Got it, took 40 minute drive and 5 minute wait to get a new one....and I might add it was $21 cheaper go figure!!...Darn Winnipeg!!
