16 November Interview Date in Manhattan

Gulp, my wife just received her citizenship interview date for 16 Novmber at 0700 in Manhattan. I don't believe it and we are still in a state of shock.

We mailed the initial application in January to Vermont that was return in March from Texas. We resubmitted and the check was cashed a few weeks later. Oumph! In late July we received a second letter, this time from Missouri, requesting additional information and fingerprints. She was fingerprinted twice as the first set we took in March was lost in Texas . The US Embassy in Dakar where we live was really good about it and did not charge for the second set. The L E T T E R finally arrives just days after the deadline that was given by the USCIS to receive the information after which they would have considered the application as abandoned.

Of course, it could not have happened at a worse time, The movers are sheduled to come 11 days later as we leave Senegal for Europe. But the date is too important to mess with and we will have to find a way around this.

Anybody out there with N-400 interview experience in Manhattan? All serious advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the offer. Specifically, I am not sure what I should be asking for, but for a start:

1) What documents did they request apart from the ones listed in the interview letter?

2) Did the oath ceremony take place the same day?

3) What are the waiting facilities like? Specifically we have a three year old.

Kind regards,

Kind regards,

1)Carry ALL the docs you first submitted to them, originals and copies, especially tax returns for at least the last 3 years.

2)The oath ceremony could take place the same day, as well as a up to a week or two. My husband got his interview mid November and was sworn in on the 3 December 2008.

3)When he arrived there was a short line outside at security then when you reach inside the building there are more security checks and when they direct to a big waiting room.
