Hey, I need some help trying to find somewhere to get an updated MMR and tetanus shot for my adjustment of status in Central florida. I've found somewhere (centra care) but they wont do anything till they've done a full health check up with them costing us around about $500 including the shots! We can afford it but there has to be somewhere that will do it without the paying so much and going through another health check. Any advice on where to find somewhere or if anyone knows how I can get this information, that would be fantastic.

Thank you for any advice anyone can give.

Umm... how about the Health Department? You will have to call them and find out the earliest appointment date for new patients. Not sure if the shots are totally free. Health Dept here in Charlotte, NC offers Tdap for free. Or better still, if you have insurance, try going to your own doctor and get the shots so that will save you some money. Then you take the vaccination record to the CS surgeon to have him/her transcribe it into the I-693, provided your medical exam abroad for K-1 is not more than a year old. You have to shop around to find the CS that best suits your financial needs. $500 is outrageous. I had a full medical (incl. Tdap shot, bloodwork, TB skin test, physical) done here in May for $232 so you should not pay more than that! All the best!

Cheers!

Do you have your UK vaccination record with you in Florida? If not, your local medical center may be wanting to do blood tests etc to make sure you have all the vaccinations required for immigration purposes.

If you do have your record with you (and therefore can prove that the MMR is all you need) it seems they are stepping way over the mark.

When I did my K1 visa medical in London, I'd just switched doctors so I couldn't access my vaccination record. As a result, the visa medical staff couldn't sign off my vaccination report and I had to get the MMR done in Colorado before I applied for AOS. Fortunately just before flying out I was able to finally get my vaccination record from my UK doctor and this satisfied the doctor here in Colorado that MMR was all I needed. I think my MMR jab cost $70 and the paperwork was another $35.

Unfortunately there are very few medical centers authorized to complete immigration paperwork. But the full list is available from the Immigration helpline. Hopefully one of them will just do the MMR for you.

I agree i paid 180 for a full medical including bloodwork, tb test , physical and 2 vaccinations. Too bad somedoctors try to screw us, anyways. You don't nedd a full exam just go to you general doctor get the vaccines (some insurances pay for it ) and then send all your documentation to doctor arnold a lot of vj'ers use her give them a call i think she charges like $30 the only thing she doensn't do is the tb test , ask the lady on the phone she will give you all the details.

Try this guy...

Dr. Hieu T Nguyen, Altamonte Springs Walk-in Medical Center

499 State Road 434, Suite 1011, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714

(407) 788-8118

Although I didn't have much luck finding someone in CF to do only what we needed...he was the cheapest

We had sent the vaccinations to be transcribed to Dr. Arnold's office, but ended up going to this Dr. after USCIS sent us an RFE stating they had our vaccination records but didn't have the medical.
