Aaron,

I have applied for my parents from India by filling I 130. Got it approved, then paid AOS fee $70. Now do you think I need to apply for I864. But I am not sure whether I need to apply DS 230 also for my parents. Can you clear this?

Any information is welcome.

How many I-130 did you file? You must file separately for your parents. They cannot share one I-130.

You need to pay $70 to file the I-864 (AOS). That's $140 for both parents. Each parent is a separate I-864 since it is 2 separate cases.

The DS-230 is $400 per person. So you need to pay $800 for your parents. Each parent is a separate DS-230.

I did file I-130 separately. You would n't believe me, but I didn't pay $140 for AOS (I-864). The system didn't let me do that. It said your both cases (for both parents) are in the same NVC, so no need to 70 twice.

Anyhow you didn't answer my original question. Do I have to file I 864 & DS 230 both together for my both parents or DS 230 will be filed separately by parents from INDIA.

Any information is welcome.

The intending immigrant fills out and signs Part I of the DS-230. You file the I-864 and DS-230 separately. Each has its own coversheet which you download from the website where you paid the fees.

I-864.

This is what I did for my brother and his family; F3 case. Sent in the the I-864 for my brother, my father is the petitioner. I included a second I-864 as the joint sponsor. Both I-864s were sent in the same envelope with the appropriate tax transcripts.

DS-230.

From information that I gathered from my brother. I filled out the DS-230s for his family; one for each member who was immigrating. Saved it as PDFs and e-mailed them to Vietnam. My brother printed them out on his end and each member signed Part I of their respective DS-230. They mailed the signed originals back to me with 1) certified copies of their birth certificates, 2) certified copy of the marriage certificate, 3) police reports and 4) photocopy of the data page of their passports. I translated all the documents in Vietnamese and certified the translation. I then sent the DS-230s with the certified translations and original supporting documents to the NVC.
