how do you check on the status of packet three. How do you talk to a live person :o

Well I know for Montreal, you can't talk to a live person ever. I assume it's probably the same in Vancouver, but not totally sure.

We are dealing with the Vancouver Consulate now ourselves and have found them to be pretty good on follow up and access. Having said that, there is no phone number for you to call that I am aware of (I could be wrong) for K Visa issues, concerns and questions. They apparently prefer by e-mail only. The "K Visa Unit" has its own e-mail address for you to use. Hope this helps.

As per the Vancouver consulate:

Please note that we do not accept phone inquiries on K1/K3 visa issues. If you have an inquiry on a specific case, you may contact us by mail or e-mail. For e-mail inquiries, the address is vancouverK@state.gov. If you wish to file a fiancé(e) petition (I-129F), please note that you can only do so by mail. Forms and filing instructions can be downloaded from the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service website: http://www.uscis.gov.

E-mail them and ask, they will get back to you fairly quickly.
