Hello fellow Visa seekers,

Last month, my fiancee and I submitted our K-1 visa petition. We got our receipt from the Vermont service center pretty soon after! Now we're just waiting for the next step.

Yesterday, it was brought to my attention that petitions may be rejected if the petitioner doesn't meet a certain income level. Seeing as I just switched from Army active duty to reserves, I'm still looking for a full-time job and I'm getting a little worried that our petition doesn't go through. I'm trying to figure out what I can do right now (my family has offered to sponsor me and my fiancee), what forms I'll need, when and how to send them... etc. I appreciate your responses!

I actually had a few questions about that.

1) So it would work for my father to become my co-sponsor?

Yes if he meets the required income with his family(if married) and your spouse.

2) Our envelope should contain the completed I-134, and the "employee letter" completed by my father's boss, correct?

And it is advised you also include a copy of last years tax forms and supporting documents or a tax transcript for last year available from the IRS at 18008291040, if you use the transcripts there is no need for w-2's, 1099's or any other supporting docs

3) When should I send that in?

It is needed at the interview stage and exactly when would depend on which consulate you are working through
