Hi, i'm a newbie here. I find this topic very informative. thanks for the posts!

i have received an email from NVC last May 13 regarding my scheduled interview on June. I've read some of the posts here and please correct me if i am wrong, i can have my medical exam taken just by bringing the email from NVC. because i've read somewhere that i need to also bring the NOA.

what is NOA (NOA1 and NOA2)? is this the notice of action? i can't seem to recall having received this document. As i recall, these are the only documents my wife received from NVC:

a. document stating to pay the application processing fee of $400 and affidavit of support fee of $70

b. document stating the interview date at the embassy

is it advisable to wait for the visa packet before having my medical exam? the guard at the information booth said at st luke's that's it's ok to just bring the letter from NVC. and is it ok if i will proceed to the medical exam three weeks before my scheduled interview?

have you scheduled you USEM interview? i guess three weeks is more that enough. i scheduled mine 2 weeks before my interview.

i have not scheduled my USEM interview. actually, based on the email from NVC, my interview schedule would be on June 11 at 6:30am. do i still need to call the USEM to confirm that date?

I don't know if you have to call still, but just in case, have it confirmed. then you can have your medical exam as early as now. come early! i got to SLMCEC at 4:30AM but got number 27! bring magazines or anything to read since it can get really boring waiting for your name to be called.

do i need to fast for the blood test?

No need. They take only a little, just enough for a few tests. You probably have to be on a full stomach since your day is going to be looooooong. Good luck!

This post is so informative that I had to reread it the night before my medical. Kudos to the OP! The first day of my medical was on June 9 and I got there at 6:20 am. Everything went smoothly but I encountered a delay when it came to my vital signs. The nurse had to redo my HR and BP so that set me back a tad. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and didn't eat breakfast since I was in such a hurry. I was so cranky that morning. The nurse asked me if I was nervous and I said no and then she looked at me all startled because my initial BP was at 130/90 and my HR was at 140. (I actually felt it pulsating. lol.) I calmed down, drank heaps of water and talked to the lady next to me then I had my vital signs checked again. The second nurse I encountered was really pleasant and I shared a few laughs with her. My vital signs were normal the second time around. After all that, I went to the immunization area and upon my name being called, the guy who handed me the vaccination paper smiled at me and asked to see my tattoos. I looked at him and peeked at the monitor. He was reading the notes of my physical exam! blink.gif I thought there was patient-doctor confidentiality? lol. I didn't mind showing him my tattoos but what if there were sensitive details in there? Well... He and everyone else with access to the computer would know. Manong guard too! lol. Anyway, I was done at around 4:40-4:50 pm and they told me to return on June 11, Friday. (I expected them to tell me to return the day after but I didn't mind it.)

The lady I talked to drove all the way from Pangasinan just for her interview and she had color coding the day after so she had to get a hotel room and buy clothes at Robinson's. She was really nice. :D

I returned on Friday for at 7:00 am or so for my 8:00 am appointment. I brought a book with me and accomplished reading half of it because of the long wait. lol. My name was finally called at 10:30, I got my Tdap and MMR shots at 11:30 then proceeded to the releasing area and wrapped it all up at 12:30. I finished sooner than some of the people who arrived before me because according to the nurses, the shots aren't based on a first come first served basis but rather, the type of shots that you need. Same thing applies for the releasing area. The less paperwork they have to carry out, the sooner the results.

Oh oh oh! Just when the nurse was going to give me my Tdap shot, he calmy went, "Sorry ah, masakit." So I looked at him and before I could even react to what he said, I went "ayeeee" and my toes curled. lol. I survived! The injected area is still sore and bruised but it'll eventually subside. :)

Good luck to those with impending medicals! :D

Next hurdle, the interview! wacko.gif

Of course you can! It doesn't matter. I don't think allergies would be a problem. TB is.
