Hi guys, this forum is simply too good and all the posts are very useful. I have a few questions on K-1 :

a) How long can I wait to submit my Packet - 3 to the consulate ?

B) Can I visit the US after sending out packet 3 ?

c) Is the US consulate in Montreal, Canada slow for processing K-1 visas ?

Answers to the above questions would be very helpful...Thanks a lot in advance !

90+ days to be scheduled an interview seems to be the norm right now.

Hey thank you for your reply...one more question :

Can we choose the interview date or does the Consulate decide on that ?

The Consulate decides. We have no say.

And yes, right now it's taking 3+ months to get an interview. As for waiting to send Packet 3, I am not sure, but I'd have a look at your NOA2 expiry as a guide. I have heard that they will extend it automatically, but I wouldn't push my luck. lol Most people try to send it right away.

You can visit after sending packet 3, but as with any other visit, make sure you have sufficient ties to Canada (mortgage, lease, letter from employer, return ticket, etc).
