In America. Ain't no google in Oz, son.

They don't need Google. The wealth of the average Joe speaks for itself. How many people here have the wealth of the Google founders? Which is the whole point though, Is it not? That you have a small group of people control the majority of the wealth, while everyone else is quite poor.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Think of the parable of the sailor and the concubine.

I'll put it another way. Find me a Detroit equivalent in Aus.

In this case, Google maps can help

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

You can put it any way you want, but I can only teach you how to fish.

I will simplify it even more.

Average Joe Yank = very average to poor

Average Joe Aussie = doing quite well.

Rich Winthrop Yank = Mega mega rich

Rich Winthrop Aussie = average rich

Poor Lashanda Yank = dirt dirt poor

Poor Shazza Aussie = can still live an okay life

Regardless of class Yank = surrounded by run down towns, cities and ghettos. Needs to go to uninhabited nature to see some beauty.

Regardless of class Aussie = surrounded by beautiful modern clean cities.

Talking ####### does not change reality. NE Americans clearly have not learned that yet.

What culture is that? The Right Wing culture of forbidding sex education in schools? Denying condoms to teenagers? Or the culture that says no really means yes?

Well the attitude that promotes sex as being the and all be all. A society that openly promotes sex in schools but scorns spirituality. Not to mention the fact that a large large number of teenage mothers are unwed single mothers. A culture that promotes choice but leaves it up to society to pay for the consequence of their choice. Unfortunately unlike the perpetrator, we don't get a choice. I have to pay for crime or any other negativity associate with a broken family. Many of us who do the right thing don't get the same right to make a choice, we just have to pay for it; usually because I decided to work hard, obey the laws and succeed.

It's one thing helping out people who are genuinely poor but totally something else when people make negligent choices yet expect others to pay for them. Unfortunately attitudes cannot be fixed with money. This attitude is why I loathe and detest the underclass in the US. While I don't blame them for getting there, nonetheless, it's still 'their choice' to behave like uncivilized dead beats; who only know to screw and commit crime.

There are millions of people from poor countries that migrated to English countries and have made something for themselves. Yes even during the depression and eras when you received no welfare. These migrants took care of their communities and worked with one another. So how is it in 2009 when people with so much provided to them, act as if they have no avenue to success? How does this explain the vandalism of public property or negligence of one's own house and street? As I have said before, I have seen people buying handfuls of DVD's yet using EBT to pay. How about purchasing a can of paint instead? to fix your shitty run down homes. How about spending the time cleaning your property? rather than watching dvd's.

For various communities that pride themselves and have no issues grouping and identifying themselves by ethnicity or region, they sure as hell have a problem working with one another to improve their situation; not to mention improve their community. I just heard someone yesterday on the nightly news discussing violence amongst AA youth in Chicago. With one of the reasons being that they are bored in cities. First off, what the hell are you doing in cities? That is a no brainer. Second of all, since they are bored and have nothing to do, how about working together to fix your community up? Since you love the cities. It certainly has nothing to do with money considering the county in the DC area with the highest crime, also spends the most money per student.
