There is nothing 'wrong' with Hispanics and Blacks - rather with the environment and social conditions many of them are forced to endure. No race or ethnicity or culture has a monopoly on crime, however more represented some are than others - it is not inherent in their being but in their social and physical environment.

This argument was never stronger in the era of Public housing, but those days are pretty much over (in most places) as most Public housing has been spread out in the modern era rather than consolidated in high rise neighborhoods.

There is also another side to the coin.

IN cities all across the country Minorities have fanned out, moving into areas that once were all white. These areas that were crime free just a few years before suddenly had higher rates of crime and as this environment changed, more and more white people left.

I have an area not too far from my house which is a prime example of this. It was a typical suburb

complete with shopping mall with skating rink in the center. After robberies and even shoot-out in the mall, it has lost all it's anchor stores and is down to only a few, even the stores nearby seem to pass from one business to the next each one a lower-grade business than the last.

This is the very same environment which... just a short time ago was one anyone would want to live in.

I can think of another area which was white then black, and now it has gone back white due to city sprawl and is a jewel again.

So what does all this mean? It means, I have trouble blaming "environment" when these very places have so much potential.

What is the cause of it? My guess would be "breakdown" in family structure.

When you don't have men in the home, boys don't learn how to be men.

When you don't have men in the home and money is limited, things around the home fall in disrepair.

Houses in disrepair lower house prices for all and soon it because a area of cheap houses, attracting more of the same.

Well the proof is in the stats.

Some states have lower crime rates, lower homicide rates than European countries with strict gun control. They all coincidentally enough have one thing in common. It's not because they are the wealthiest states either; quite the contrary actually. Hint: total opposite to DC.

Vermont and the Dakotas usually fight it out for lowest crime, sometimes we win, sometimes they do. None of these states have any gun control to speak of.

NYC is awesome, no matter what :D:dance: we kick everyone's azzes :D

Yeah, and if we don't believe it...you'll shoot us.

Something is wrong with the Blacks, and Hispanics.

Yeah, they don't have nearly enough money.

Fight crime! Go to Brooklyn and hand out $100 bills. dare 'ya

Hah, and to think that this is the city I'll be moving too... good thing I like it there :)

I was in New York a couple of weeks ago, a guy followed me off the train in Staten Island and tried to steal my laptop (I was carrying it in my arms, arms folded across my chest). This happened in broad daylight, 11:30am, on the street with people around us - which turned out to be very fortunate for me, because I didn't let go of the laptop right away so we struggled for a while before he just let go and took off. Still an extremely frightening experience but it could have been a lot worse!

I did get a very good response from the SI NYPD - four police cruisers, an ambulance, two undercover cops, and detectives all showed up to help me out and to try and catch the guy. We didn't get him, unfortunately :(

Interesting that whenever there is a crime people call other people who have GUNS to come help them. They do not call the fire department, they do not call they auto repair guy, because they want GUNS. In any crime there are three people involved, the criminal, the victim and the police. The police are always the last to get there, so why should the victim be the only one UN armed?

I never even realized this until you brought it too my attention in another thread.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Chicago Once Again The US "Murder Capital"

Perhaps you should pay a bit more attention to reality rather than hanging out with clowns like Bill Ayers.

1. This is a year old.

2. HuffingtonPost

3. Where are the final stats?

4. 426 murders in Chicago vs 417 in NYC doesn't support your claim of "The entire map of Chicago would be one big-azz blue dot."

Nobody said it was Pleasantville.

What I don't understand is, why you came to the US. I mean, they've got better network infrastructure, your wealthy cousin, and fewer of those problematic Black people in Aussie. Just think about how much better your life would be there without having to complain about the US all the time. I bet it would add years to your life.

Interesting answer for someone who makes out to be the scholar of VJ. Unfortunately for you, that would be an F at any ivy league grade college. The comment about Chicago was a joke to ruffle some feathers. After all, DC is just as bad. Both cities have some interesting similarities might I add.

It's actually individuals like yourself that keep this country down. Individuals that have embroiled this country in moronic rights issues for the past 40 years. Now on top of that you same individuals cannot accept the consequences of your actions or lack of in the appropriate area. Yes, while you guys were complaining about rights issues countries like Australia have surpassed the US and annihilated it in many areas. Australia is only one example and the best example for myself as I have lived there. I could use a range of other countries and cities to prove my point.

I have every right to voice my opinion; much in the same way rappers have every right to sing about bitches and whoes. The only difference between the two is that I am actually stating a point regarding improving the country. Whereas as the brothers you protect are more interested in staying morons.

Yes, we're very fortunate...both VJ and the USA...to have you here. We realize that Ausstralia is so much better than the USA, and that you're making great sacrifices to be here and to give us the benefit of your worldly knowledge in solving the complex problems we have in this country. So what is your "point" in improving the country?

Oh...get rid of all the "brothers"? Certainly there's no way they could be of any good use. I mean, their culture is all about bitches and whoes, and they are only interested in rape, murder and drugs...and staying morons.

Booyah, you have delusions of mediocrity, let alone grandeur.

This must be a Chicago thing. That is, being unable to accept criticism or better yet that other cities, particularly abroad, are doing something better than you. While it is your prerogative to think so, it does not change reality.

The other statement was regarding a question posed to you. Clearly you are implying that my constructive criticism or simply stating the obvious is somehow offensive and un-American, while the progress of the urban minorities is something you are yet to condemn. No offense but some like your weirdo bud Bill Ayers would have the constitution shoved up his azz in Aus. That is why crackhead fools like him stay here.

As I said to you before, this voodoo white guilt mind trick may work on white Americas, more like liberal yanks, but has zero effect on those born overseas. I call it like it is. Did I say every single African American behaves like that? No I did not. I am surprised you didn’t use the ‘you're a racist’ card. In particular, regarding the facts I posted earlier about the states with extremely low crime rates. I have been accused of racism here about 30 times now but always laugh at these labels. Just the other day I was at a post office, and I overheard a senior AA asking for directions to walk to a store. That is, to walk to the bus stop, to get to the store. Guess what, I was the one who offered and drove him to the store. Not the other young African Americans or anyone else for that matter; yes me, the same guy that is apparently the resident racist of VJ.

But anyway, back to you telling me how I hate the country, am wrong about Chicago, and stereotyping.

Never said you hated the country, but you're always talking about how superior your country is. Makes one wonder why you left such a great place.

You've admitted that your statements about Chicago were in jest (hard to tell) so that point is moot.

Stereotyping...yeah, you do that QUITE a bit.

As for you being a racist. I only know you online, so I have to give you the benefit of your word. That said, a lot of your statements sound racist...probably why you've been called a racist so many times. Also, most closet racists usually respond by telling you that they have friends that are Black, or that they did this or that to help Black people.

Most people who are wrongly accused of being racists respond by saying something to the effect of their belief that they are no better or worse than people of another race.

The response of "I have Black friends" or "I help Black people everyday" usually means, "I'm superior, but kind enough to help THOSE people".
