I'm just posting that quote to hear people's opinion on it. I purposely kept it anonymous so as not to persuade anyone here to rethink their opinion. I think it goes without saying that many here and many of these tea baggers have been echoing the same sentiments. It's only a matter of time, IMO, before an event triggers someone to take action.

Some nutbag maybe - but they usually don't need much of an excuse...

I can't think of anything more likely to drive you up the wall though, seriously

He's a big boy... besides... sometimes you have to turn up the heat in the oven to make the fruitcake rise. He's not a bad baker.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Exactly. There are people who do commit acts of violence for ideological reasons but they are not that common and there is no possibility of an organised assault. People are really not that stupid despite evidence to the contrary on VJ ;)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I think there needs to be some clarification of what the purpose of this thread is - as the quote by itself kinda implies that the OP believes it (which I'm sure isn't the case).

It could happen, of course. If they are crazy enough to believe the hysterical BS out there regarding Obama and the entire healthcare mess, then there might be a small subset of crazies willing to go all out. They don't realize though that extremism of that sort usually results in public galvanization against them AND their entire political stance.

I hope reason can find these crazies before they turn their empty rhetoric into more stupidity.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Steve, there are quotes by Hitler that can sound halfway reasonable if you post them anonymously.

Using similarly charged rhetoric doesn't automatically indicate that there's an equal commitment to violence.

I will say though that I am suspicious of those people who play the Libertarian card - as a lot of them seem to do so for no other reason than that the GOP isn't right-wing enough for them.

He can do what he likes and reap whatever that sows. I just wanted to express an opinion in relation to the ? I shall probably withdraw from further debate unless it rises above the puerile - or if it descends into something humorous but I don't anticipate either scenario without AJ

Bingo. It's like a child telling their father who just cooked them a spaghetti dinner, "but that's not how mommy makes it."

Timothy McVeigh was known throughout his life as a loner; his only known affiliations were voter registration with the Republican Party when he lived in New York, and a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military.

Despite the former, McVeigh self-identified as a libertarian in a statement that was reported by MSNBC.com and The Washington Post; and while in federal prison, he voted for Libertarian candidate Harry Browne in the 1996 United States presidential election.

So much for the sanctity of the polling booth!

When did Congress suspend the secret ballot?

A Democrat in the White House will do. Did it for McVeigh.

I understand. But we're not talking about people merely making small talk. There has been a surge in militias since Obama was sworn into office and when the HS Chief Napolitano came out with that statement of concern over domestic terrorists, the Right scoffed at it as merely being a political ploy. There is a very real threat of terrorism in this country against the Federal Government, and right now, it's coming from domestic sources.

Maybe he volunteered the information? Some people enjoy telling others who they vote for, others not so much.

Thanks, MC. I do not wish to walk in the shadow of the great, AJ. He is and will always be much better than me. I'm just trying to be me. :)

Sure, but I very much doubt its as widespread as you're making it out to be.

So, little Timmy was a reactionary, an anarchist, and a mass killer, but not a liar? Good to know he still had integrity, even in the end.
