Hi all,

Hope you can help?

I am the beneficiary living in South Africa and my fiance is living in the U.S. We are using a lawyer to help us in the process but my worry is that my fiance is the petitioner living in the U.S and is currently in Graduate school only working when she can. Does this mean that i will not be able to enter as she is still a student?

Just prior to the interview, and then, after coming to the U.S. should you be successful in obtaining the visa, you will need to submit to the Consulate/Embassy and USCIS financial information. If there is just the two of you, she will need to make 125% of the basic poverty line to support you. If she doesn't make enough money, she can get a co-sponsor who does make the required amount of money.

Here are the poverty guideline amounts.

no, it means a cosponsor may be needed, if she can not meet income requirements.
