Hi there guys!

Its been awhile im not sure if im on the right forum but then ill still give it a try to ask our concern. I just want to ask that since im done with biometrics and is still waiting for EAD and other documents to come in(hope it will be soon enough).. Will i be allowed to apply for california ID now and a drivers permit? or should there be a need for us to wait for our green card before we can do that? Plus, my daughter came here with K2 visa and shes just 11 y/o. Will she be allowed to apply for social security number now, though she havent havent gotten her green card yet? in my own experienced the dmv denied my application when i tried to get a state id, showing the hard copy of noa of my aos did not help. better wait your gc before you apply to dmv an id.

Yes you can apply for california ID. Just make sure your visa is at least valid for another 2 months. i got mine when i was a still a tourist.

Just a piece of advice, if there is no immediate need for a california ID, i suggest you wait til you get ur EAD coz the expiry of the california ID will be based on ur I-94.
