How long is I-134 good for?

How far in advance can you fill out the I-134? Since you need things like an official letter from the bank and you need it notorized, I want to get it out of the way. Plus I am going over there next month and I wanted to bring him all the documents he needs for his interview.

I looked at the form and the instructions and didn't see anything about it has to be completed X amount of time before submitting. I figured there must be some limitation otherwise you could complete it a year ahead.

Thanks!

I-134s are good for one year.

Affidavits of support should be of recent date when presented to the consular officer. They are unacceptable if more than one year has elapsed from the date of execution. The affidavit of support should be given to the applicant to present on the day of his or her visa interview. If you do not wish for the person to see this affidavit, you may send it directly to the Embassy with a covering letter giving the applicant's full name, date and place of birth and case number.

Hi,

Is this really true. I mean what dwar49 says. Can your co-sponser send the documents direct to the embassy. Mine wants to but i was soooo worried that they were going to lose them and delay our case that i just told her to send it in a sealed envelope to me and that i would trust that it was all correct.

She is a distant family member. Happy to help but i know it is a matter of embarassment to her for me to see all of her finances layed out like that.

What do we think? Trust London Embassy to match up the case and the affidavit and not mess up??? Or go with an 'in hand' delivery for luck!!

Cheers!
