Congrats to those who had their Checks/Cheques cashed in (yeah, I know it sucks to lose the money, but at least they are doing something).

Congrats to those who got their NOAs (they got your file...now the journey starts...)

Congrats to those who got the mystery RFE/Biometrics/Fingerprints notices (the next stage of the process...the journey continues...)

Congrats to those who went for their Biometrics/Fingerprints (the sooner this gets done, the sooner for an interview and oath...)

Updating Biometrics appointment on 9/14/09!

I am so glad to see this great momentum and am hoping that they'll keep it up. It's funny, but I'm so much more excited for my husband's naturalization process then I was back in 2002 getting my own citizenship. The bottom line is I hope that we keep on moving forward at such a wonderful pace...

Lol...Sept is fast..but certainly not hot!! It's freezing here in NYS!! The leaves are falling off the trees already! Winter is about to come!

Hello Ant D !

I have been so lazy that for last six months I have been asking various ppl here on various thread to update my information. Thought to request you today to add my status on this thread (since you are one of the most renown name here). I received my I-797 C in the mail today. It says that USCIS received my application on 21st, and the Notice Date/Priority date is September 23rd. It states my full name and residential address and requires from me to contact them in case of any discrepancy with my name or address.

Now my question about cashing the chk. Since I had lost my job last month and had been claiming Unemployment until last week. Therefore, I had to ask loan from my friend. He did by giving me a Money order. I have been calling the 1 800 number to confirm the status of the money order, whether or not it has been cashed. Until writing this email, it was not cashed. Am I in a weird situation? Response is greatly appreciated. Wish you all best of luck in this great journey.

You should not worry, you already had your NOA 1 that means that they accepted your application. Good luck in receiving your fingerprints soon.

No problem about updating your information to the list and thanks for telling us about such...Maryces21 did that already for you...so the thanks for the update goes to them instead...

Likewise, I got the same NOA as you did, so no problem there with you either. As for the check/money order for you, don't worry about that. Since you got your NOA, that is already your "reciept" of that being cashed by the USCIS. Maybe it takes awhile for the updaates on the 1-800, so you can check again later. But as far as the USCIS is concerned, they did receive your money, and you shouldn't worry about them not getting such. If you don't mind me asking, does your NOA say it is for $595 or $675 (as there have been some differences from vjers about this)?

Sorry to hear about your employment situation. It's understandable, as economic times are hard and a lot of people are in this situation. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to get back on your feet employment-wise here, and pay off the loan to your friend. Lol..It doesn't help that the USCIS is wanting more money (outrageous fees, indeed) for filing immigration forms, and thus making all of us go into more debt because of this. I know what you mean about borrowing money from a friend to pay for those fees, as likewise, I've had to borrow money from someone that I knew to pay for such fees too. And needless to say, this leads to somewhat strainned relationships (well at least in my case anyways)...Sigh, why can't the USCIS make immigration affordable for everyone, regardless of situation....

Hello Ant D !

I have been so lazy that for last six months I have been asking various ppl here on various thread to update my information. Thought to request you today to add my status on this thread (since you are one of the most renown name here). I received my I-797 C in the mail today. It says that USCIS received my application on 21st, and the Notice Date/Priority date is September 23rd. It states my full name and residential address and requires from me to contact them in case of any discrepancy with my name or address.

Now my question about cashing the chk. Since I had lost my job last month and had been claiming Unemployment until last week. Therefore, I had to ask loan from my friend. He did by giving me a Money order. I have been calling the 1 800 number to confirm the status of the money order, whether or not it has been cashed. Until writing this email, it was not cashed. Am I in a weird situation? Response is greatly appreciated. Wish you all best of luck in this great journey.
