Has anybody experienced a denied biometrics walk in for N400? I won't make the appointment for biometrics on Sep 3, and was asked to TAKE BACK my I797, compared to reschedule and SURRENDER the original I797 and wait for new I797 with different date. The supervisor initialed the biometrics form and told me to come back whenever I return in the country. My concern Isn't this be considered abandonment of application if you don't show up for fingerprinting, and don't reschedule.

Thanks George

Yes, I was denied a walk-in. However, I went to the local DO (without an appointment) and an IO was able to schedule my finger prints that same day. It was a hand-written template appointment letter with the original notice stapled to it. I then went back to the finger print facility and was processed the same day.

Many of the processing centers have a strict schedule and won't let people just to walk in. You can fill out the second part of the letter and ask to reschedule - no brainer there...

Boy I hear you in my dreams

I feel your whisper across the sea

I keep you with me in my heart

You make it easier when life gets hard

We were screwing around at the St. Paul office with the I-751 when my wife was scheduled for fingerprints, (again) in Milwaukee, we considered keeping her legal was far more important, but they let us go in the following Wednesday at noon. We were the only ones there, they were nice, good luck is not running into a hardhead, our odds of that were like 50-50.

You do see your fingerprint on the green card, no where on the certificate of naturalization, have no idea why they want the 3rd set of fingerprints, you also have to provide your own passport photos, but still charge you 80 bucks. But that is nothing compared to the over 500 bucks it cost us for transportation and lost pay. It all seems crazy to me.

Emilio claims it cost 80 bucks to store your fingerprint and retrieve it, can't imagine that file being over 100KB, MSN is letting me use 25 GB of hard drive space for free as are several other internet sites.

Heard the only reason for the 3rd set of a fingerprint is yet for another FBI check, you already had two of those, and if you were naughty, couldn't make your appointment anyway, because you would be in jail. None of this makes any sense to me, was hoping to see my wife's fingerprint on her certificate, least I would feel I was getting my 600 bucks worth after all that traveling and initial expense. And with all that chasing around for her ten year card, she only had it for seven weeks.
