Why Do Women Orgasm?

There is no correlation between female orgasm and female fitness in the evolutionary sense; in other words, orgasmic women are no more successful, reproductively, than their less fortunate, nonorgasmic "sisters." So why does female orgasm occur at all?

What the hell does this mean? All women have the mechanism to orgasm so who are these less fortunate 'nonorgasmic' sisters? Women with 'wham, bam, thank you ma'am' partners?

I think the female orgasm is learned. There's so many factors that go into a woman being able to orgasm. It doesn't just happen for women as easily as it does for men. I also think it has to do as much with the woman as it does with the man. If a woman can't do it herself, how the hell is she supposed to show a man what works for her?

I agree...become responsible for your own orgasm...I learned that early on so it never mattered to me, but also a responsible woman teaches her male partner...girls..we have to do this, if a lover is lousy take a moment... women down the line will thank you!

In my human sexuality class, I do recall a video about female orgasms. And some research suggests (which we saw on the video) that during an orgasm the ####### makes a suctioning type movement inside which sucks semen further into the vaginal cavity ultimately assisting with insemination and the motility of the sperm. At least that is the theory.
