hi, i have a question i just notice on my visa that my fiance address is Hopkinsville NY, instead of Hopkinsville KY because i am going there in Hopkinsville Kentucky, i think its not a big issue on the misspelled letter right? and all my personal information on my visa are all correct except that, and my flight will be on Thursday August 27 will depart Manila at 6:45 am through Northwest Airlines, then fly to Nagoya Japan to Detroit which is my Port of Entry. I already have my E-ticket and itinerary and my fiance book my seat online. its my first time to fly especially alone, what i should do when i get into Terminal 1? how many hours i should be in the airport prior to my departure. and yes i will need to attend CFO on Monday the last thing that i need to do, i need to find this CFO address, im from Pampanga, any suggestions?

Thanks to all inputs in advance.

and congratulations to all who passed interviewed this august!!!

should have had it corrected, misspelled info on passport, esp state may pose a problem.. That's the reason why i opt to have my visa picked up so i can check for the information if everything is correct... spelling included. Maybe you can still have it corrected in the US embassy and just request for a pick up if you are going to take your CFO in Manila area due to you're leaving pretty soon. Just to be sure you know...

If ever they allow you entry in POE even if its misspelled and definitely not your fault, i think it will still be a hassle when you don't have it corrected because when you get here, there will be adjustment, and all the paperwork, so you don't have to explain over and over again what happened.

Good thing though is that i googled hopkinsville, ny and i don't think there's such a place..

They should be able to change the visa and correct the spelling on it, it was their fault.

Maybe you can call the US embassy and ask how you can go about it and also inform that you will be leaving in Aug.

Good luck.

I also had solo flight for the first time when i went here.. You will be fine. You have to be in the airport at least 2 hours before your flight or you may have to check with your airline requirements, also check the luggage requirements. So you will still have ample time for security, checking in your luggage, paying fees. Bring something that you can read or listen to because there will be some waiting.

For NWA you will go to your far right after you pass the first security check. Look for the NWA sign overhead. After you check in your luggage and secure your boarding pass just follow the others that were in line or ask an airport employee. Remember you will need to pay your taxes and fees.

In Nagoyo, just follow the other passengers and you will go through security again.

You will be flying with many filipnos to Japan and to Detroit. You should feel comfortable and make friends on the flight. Your connecting flight from Detroit may be all US citizens, but it will be a short flight.

This thread will tell you everything you want to know about CFO: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124719

Wait, I thought you could only ask to pick it up. It said in the guidelines you have a 50/50 chance of being able to pick it up or them delivering it via whatever service they use now, I think Air21. I know that was posted over a year ago. Is picking it up at the embassy an option now??

Hi Kilipit!

I agree with T_and_A, better contact the US embassy regarding the small glitch on your visa.

Edp is also right, NWA is at the far right after passing security check.

They also advice that you be at the airport 2 hours before your flight.

Also go to www.nwa.com/ph you can check your itinerary and also view/change your seat from the site. They also offer online check in (you can check in 24 hours prior to your flight so you are really confirmed to take the flight) but you still need to check your bags at the airport of course! The site is also a rich resource on luggage weight/size, movies available on the flight, food that they will be serving etc.

Nagoya is a small airport (compared to Detroit) so as Edp has said, just follow other passengers to go to the security. No need to get your checked luggage they will be the one to transfer it.

Don't worry, you'll be fine.

Have a safe trip!

hi!

wish u a happy trip and smooth poe. i was alone too coming here for the first time and i also had multiple connecting flights mnl-hk-sanfran-denver.

as for the the clerical error on your visa, id say its not a big deal. BUT that's just my opinion. its because my visa has an error too... they double the name of my husband eg: john smith john (but his name is only john smith) and i was worried and raised this question to the forum and a lot of members back then who had the same issues told me that as long as my/your name on the visa is correct then it should be fine. my alien number on my visa was wrong too lol... i didnt know it until my aos interview... but if calling the embassy makes you feel better, i suggest you should coz they absolutely know the answer for you... God bless...

hey let me clarify one thing about the number

the number from the nyc which is case number and it has the added 01,02, 03 at the end

then it means that the extra digit is the quantity of the visa with one case number

my wife she just got the visa and she has the 01 extra with the nvc case number and it simply means that they issued only one visa with that case.

i maybe wrong but u can check with others,

Hi pink! In my case my alien no# in my visa has one no# incorrect like they print Axx659 but when I had my aos interview the officer couldn't find my case and when he checked my visa and compared it to the files from the brown envelope he realized that my alien no# should be Axx459 so how would I know right? I'm not allowed to open the brown envelope lol. But it wasn't a big deal he said. He just made correction and now my GC alien no# is ok

hi thank you to all replies, i really do appreciate it. I am glad with my confusing times here's my fellow vj members are ready to answers my queries, thank you so much.

now i have an idea what to do in the airport.

About my visa error information of my fiance state, i email the US embassy last week about it, and i did not get any reply, now i search through http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhni25.html#05

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ERRORS ON PRINTED VISAS

It is your responsibility to check the information printed on the visa upon its receipt to ensure accuracy of the data. Biographic information on the visa should match the information found on the passport biographic page. Discrepancies on the visa must be corrected prior to use.

ERROR(S) ON VISA ISSUANCE

For errors such as the following:

* Incorrect visa classification

* Misspelled name(s)

* Incorrect date of birth, gender or nationality

To make arrangements for the collection of your passport with visa for correction, you can either (1) call the AIR21 hotline number at (02) 879-4747, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to arrange for document pickup, OR (2) send the requested documents through any AIR21 drop-off service center nationwide. Please visit www.air21.com.ph for a complete list of service centers. Include a letter that clearly states the error. The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit shall determine the legitimacy of all visa correction requests.

CHANGE OF NAME

Visa holders of valid visas on passports reflecting their incorrect, old, assumed name, such as the following, may reapply for a nonimmigrant visa :

* incorrect spelling of the name

* without the second name (ex: “Jose Reyes dela Cruz” instead of “Jose Pedro Reyes dela Cruz”)

* without a suffix (Jr., Sr., III, etc.)

* Ma. instead of Maria

To reapply, please comply with the Nonimmigrant Visa Application Procedures.

i think i am not qualified for that specific error because my visa personal info and my passport are both correct and match except to NY to KY of my fiance address.

again thank you very much to all your inputs and thanks for the concern and advice, i will try on monday too before i go, cant wait for the CFO.

and congratulations to all who passed interviewed this august!!!

You have to check-in at least 2 hours before you scheduled flight, avoid too much luggage, hand carry is at least 7 kgs. I don't know if Northwest Airline allows more than 1 bag inside the aircraft, check all your belongings never to leave anything unattended, if you are early to check-in you can choose you seat, you can request either you like window side or isle, just ask the check-in counter staff. Secure the locks of your bags, I am working in an airline company and I know how do these people at the baggage room handle the baggages. After your check-in proceed to the window where you will pay your terminal fee, then to the immigration department where they will check your documents and stamp your passport then proceed to the gate where you are going to board, the gate number is indicated on your boarding pass, boarding time is usually 45 minutes before the departure. Good luck and have a safe flight. :thumbs:

At the time my visa was approved i requested for CO if possible for me to pick up my visa at the last part of the K1 interview since I was in the manila area anyway and was gonna leave for the province and noone will receive my visa in the apt i live in in manila by the time Delbros delivers it, and he said it was ok... I was able to pick up my visa at the US embassy myself as soon as i received their text message. I don't know if they still allow it now. As far as i heard here in VJ, not anymore.
