NBI Clearance

Our NBI Clearance will expire before our interview so we went and got a new one this week.

The first one in 2008 was approved by NVC in wife's maiden name. Her name says "Luna, Mary y Teresa"

On her new one from 2009 today it says "Luna de Smith, Mary y Teresa"

Smith being my name since we are married now. I'm using ficticious names of course.

I guess that would translate to Luna of Smith, Mary and Teresa

Everything else on the document is in English, but it seems that they are using spanish grammar in the names. Suddenly I,m wondering if we have to go redo this without the Spanish, or is this just part of that strange Legal Vocabulary and all of the NBI Clearances are like this.

The NVC didn't seem to mind the "Mary y Teresa",but I also read that all docs must be translated into English. I know NVC is a busy bunch, maybe they just missed it.

any advice appreciated!

don't worry, they know that it means all other names (second, third etc) used by your wife, as you've seen in your wife's first NBI clearance that is the rule and all NBI clearances are issued looking like that, whether a person has changed status or not. no need for translations. you'll be fine.

my wife's NBI is in english and it has her father's name de her husband name , her name y her mother's name

i sent that to NVC and she had in the interview in manila two days ago without any problem

you have nothing to worry about. all married applicant's names in NBI clearance are written like that.
