I called the DOS today and they basically told me "your in AP" it's no problem but we don't know how long it will take. I emailed Cairo and so far have not received a response. It's a bad feeling really to have come this far and have no control or timeframe whatsoever to go by.

In fact you can not tell how much it will take . cause every case is different.

sometimes it takes 1 month sometimes 2,4,6,9 months or ever a year .

I have been under AP for 5 months and now i'm under CO final review . which is the last step before they issue the visa so i hope that i will get it soon .

The sad thing is you can not expedite this process even if you get your congressman involved .

AP

Good luck and my best wishes for you .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Painful, but true. Just keep emailing or calling every week. Watch DHL too, sometimes seeing that it's been touched helps.

When I was going through this we had a thread that had everyone's screenname who was going through Egypt, the date that their interview happened and then the date that they got the visa in hand. This thread was very important to me and others because it gave us hope. There were, at the beginning, AP times that were 9 months or more, but as time moved on the AP times became mere weeks for some. After my husband got his visa (took 8 months or so after the interview) things started to go quickly for others that came after us. Now it seems to be slowing down a bit more. I really think someone should start a thread like we used to have to get each other's spirits up. I'd do it but I'm not on as much anymore and I don't really know half the people going through Egypt these days.

Good luck and know that although Egypt is slow, the visa usually does come. I can't remember anyone getting denied from Cairo, though there were tons getting denied from Casa when we were going through this. That's at least something to hold on to, you know? Any speck of hope used to keep us going.

Just wanted to let everyone know that according to DOS and Cairo Embassy we are out of AP. Now is the wait for Cairo to mail it out. Anyone have any idea for time frames?

this is a good news and congratulations , for the time fram after you getting out of AP is around 1-2 weeks till you get the visa in hand and for less pain of waiting for sure you have the DHL receipt with track # track it on DHL HERE and from my experience with the track as long as it said left facility in Cairo and then in transit it means its out of the embassy because some times there is a movement inside the embassy .

and for the ppl asking for the time frame of AP for sorry there is no time frame at all for this stage , first call DOS to see if your case still in cairo or they send it back to the USA then from there you can make you calling or e-mail if it still in cairo the only way is e-mail the embassy and wait for the answer back , if it sent back call DOS once a week just to get any new updates from them , i know how it feel i been there and all we can do just pray and wait keep faith up every thing have its time and we dont know where is the best and better for us God the only one know so follow his lead and ya will never loose Good Luck all

Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what it was but it had to do with proving that my husband had never been out of Egypt. The husband had to go to the passport office to get some sort of paper. It took like 2 weeks to get. A few members here have had to deal with it but I haven't heard about it for awhile.

Well considering Cairo is well known for giving AP, Ahmed and I are preparing ourselves for that. Although my husband has left Egypt many times, including coming to the U.S. So, inshaAllah this "movement" certificate won't make a difference or delay things for us. Ugh...I hate this whole immigration process!!!
