A# (8 digits)

my husband told me that the immigration guy called him and said, that they attached an A# (8 digits) to my papers ..

im on a K1 and i dont have a visa yet... anybody knows what could that mean?

Should be 9 digits. Most likely need to add a zero on front.

when i got the IMBRA RFE there was a A# in the top left corner.... is that our A# (the one they was talking about on the I-129F) or is it something completly different?

Just a guess, but I assume you have been assigned an A#. Did you know of having one before the call?

The A# is assigned by the USCIS to track all its cases. You can find the A# on your NOA either 1 or 2, above the name in the Beneficiary block.

You are welcome. One other thing to mention about that number. You will use it when you apply for AOS as you need it for the I-485 and G-325A forms. You will also need to send in a copy of your NOA2 which will have it listed as well.

When your case gets approved and sent to the NVC, you will receive a Case Number, which pertains to the consulate that will process your visa. That is the way the State Department tracks its cases, while the A# is how the USCIS tracks its cases.

And yes, it is a 9 digit number!
