Hey guys...

I am seeing that April filers are getting approved.I am afraid that the deadly Name Check may have bitten me again for no reason.

While filing for AOS my case got stuck in FBI Name check for more than a year.Back in 2006/07, people used to get stuck in Name Check for a long time.I believe now (as published in a USCIS memo), Name Check is done within 3 months.

I was lucky that I had a very nice Immigration Officer(IO), who gave me his email address which I used every month to inquire on my status. He would promptly reply me and would also right kind words, like.."Do not worry...etc"...

Will it be a good idea to write him again and inquire about my status?

You may want to go to My Assistant above and fill in your timeline.

Why are you so worried? We filed in January and are still waiting. Just relax. Our case is over 6 months old. If you do write your IO, please ask about our case and a few thousand more that filed before you.

Good luck to all of us in this adventure.

Hi tapskap,

I would don't. The reason he/she wont know what's going on with your case and might say that they don't have jurisdiction on your case .

I replied to your other post here.

Why not? It wont hurt. My only advice is do not abuse the kindness of your former IO. They were obviously very nice to provide you with their email at all, very unusual, but do not push it too far. Inquire but only do so if you really need to (ie give it another few months).
