Ok I have certified copies of divorces on one there is alot of information about the divorce alligations, settlements, spousal support(now deceased), child support(now in their 30's) that I do not really feel is needed to be known for the G-325-A. The information that shows the date of the divorce and the restoring of single status is there too in differant paragraphs. I am allowed to darken out the information that is not needed? I do care to have all the personal details shared if they are not nessacary. Help here please, I just want to darken the unneed information but not if it will cause a problem. Thanks

I wouldn't redact it.. It is just immigration looking at the documents and they are public records anyway. I think anyone can get a copy if they wanted to.

Personally, I would not give immigration any reason to cause a denial or delay (cause the pencil pusher does not know if he can accept it or not).

Just my opinion,

Do not under any circumstances alter a certified document, be it a court record, birth certificate, or otherwise.

Can you submit simply a certified copy of the decree of divorce? I wouldn't think you'd need the entire case record.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Do not tamper with or change in any way your "certified copy" of any of your divorce decree's. At that point they are no longer considered "certified".

The USCIS does not care about the sorted details of your personal life, they might however wonder what you're hiding if they notice black streaks all over your official documents.

We just submitted the actual divorce decree and not the terms of settlement for the divorce.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
