i have my conditional 2yrs GC, is it ok to travel already outside US? jst arrived here a mnth ago and now im going out again coz i want to see my sick mom. Just worried if there wnt be any problem when i go back in the US. Is there any papers i have to sign before i leave? Or the GC is enough already? I will only be out of the US for a month or less.

And also, i still dnt have my SSN. How long would they send that to us in the mail? we went to their office a week after we arrived in the US and applied but they said no need and jst wait for the ssn to be mailed to us in 3 weeks or a month. But it's past 1 month now and we still dnt have it. Do we have to go to their office and apply again?

Thanks for future replies..

You have your green card. You can go out of the country anytime. Just don't forget your passport and plane ticket  Paper work you have to sign before you leave? I don't think so. Your green card is enough for your re-entry here.

I got my SSN after three weeks in the mail. I was told to wait after 3 weeks and they were right. But you can call their office and make inquiries why they are taking their sweet time sending you the SSN.

I hope your mom's gonna be okay.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

if your green card has your married name and your passport your maiden name, you'll need to book the flight with the name used on your passport. take a copy of your marriage license just in case.
