What do you think?.

I wish them well :) but it would not be for me. I worry NOW that something may happen to me and I have to leave my little ones, my oldest would survive without me and ofcourse all kids adapt. BUT I want to be around for more grandkids and I can not see this happening with these new parents.

I saw they mentioned about the oldest mom known too,66 years old.

Her pregnancy fanned a debate in Romania and internationally about the ethics of older-age parenthood, and Bucharest officials said limits on vitro fertilization would be introduced but no laws have come into force.

The main issue that was debated in the media was the selfishness of such acts. Now my personal opinion is that there are parents who choose parenthood for selfish reasons at younger ages too

It doesn`t seem practical. The parents seem avtive enough now but that could change, then again that can happen to parents at any age. So it is one of those times when i don`t think there is a right answer. It is just one of those things that make you go hmm.

Now i have that song in my head.

Well.

I can certainly see valid arguments for both sides of this issue.

But any attempt to "legislate" who has the right to have children and who doesn't gets into some really sticky legal and moral issues. Some governments have tried to do this in the past, determining certain groups of people -- minorities, mentally or physically disabled, etc. -- "unfit" to become parents. The Nazis believed in this idea, and there have been instanced of forced sterilizations by the medical community in the U.S. as well, although the practice is generally considered unethical these days.

I have to say I couldn't make a blanket assessment on this controversial issue.

People can do whatever they want and I agree it shouldn't be illegal. But, I think it is selfish for someone to have a child at that age.
