Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and I was wondering if anyone can help me regarding my question.

Last week I had my K3 approved. I have had my medical in London and everything was up to scratch :) Now, when I get to the U.S. I would like to work there and become a resident.

How do I go about doing this? What do I need and how do I obtain it? How long does it take for AOS and EAD to process? Do me and my wife have to have an interview?

What forms do I need to submit in order to get this going? When the forms are submitted, is it possible for me to travel back to the UK for a few weeks?

I would be very grateful if someone can give me step by step instruction on how to go about doing this.

Thank you in advance.

:guides: They will answer a lot of your questions.

K3 is a multiple entry visa that would allow you to reenter the US without obtaining Advance Parole.

Start by looking in the menu bar at the top of the page. Click on GUIDES. Over in the right column, you will see Work, Travel and Becoming a Permanent Resident. That's a good place to start. As a K3, you can travel without getting Advance Parole (AP) like many of the K1s get.

The section below those links Other Important Things to Know: is also a good, informative read.

And we have a UK AOS thread going http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189022 that is more for support and keeping in touch with other Brits. There's lots of information in the whole AOS topic that you should continue to read. In that UK AOS thread, there is a list I posted (page 6 of the thread) of things to submit for AOS. It's geared toward K1s, but much of it will apply to you. It's just an overall summary and won't substitute for studying the VJ guides.

And there's a spreadsheet showing how the UKers are progressing on their AOS that might give you an idea of how long it takes. (It varies alot.)

If you have a google account it might ask you to log in to your account, but there's no secret login to the spreadsheet. It's open to anybody. Just seems Google starts to ask you to login if you already have a Google account. Annoying. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p4x...HVG6dVoxmTGAKEg

Another question.

As I been approved on the K3. Is it possible to go to the states for two weeks to start off my EAD and AOS application and return back to the UK waiting for finalisation of the process?

The thing is I don't want to hang around without a job you see.

Also the page outlining my arrest which was over 11 years ago for taking my fathers car without his consent. I have a UK police certificate, which states the following

1. Date

2. Offence

3. Court

4. Disposal

Is this enough for the AOS?
