Hello,

Figured I could get some helpful advice on this site. I've been a lurker until now, and just have one question...which may turn into several so forgive me.

I have just received approval on my I-129f, and just got a letter in the mail today explaining that I could also file for 1-824 now.

So...my question is. Do I need to file this I-824 form. I've been on the USCIS website, and googling it but can't get a clear answer. If I do need to file this I'm not so sure what "category" I would need to do it for. My Fiancee lives in Vienna, Austria where the US Embassy is located.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Description of the I-824 is:

"Purpose of Form :

To request a duplicate approval notice, to request approval notice to another U.S. Consulate, and to request notice to a U.S. Consulate for derivative visas to family members"

Is there a reason you'd want to file this?

It (the I-824) is not a standard form most folks need.
