We recieved the reciept notice that extended my wife's green card for another year. We are taking a cruise to the Islands this summer. Should we have any problems using her green card along with the letter? Does it in fact extend the validity of the green card as the USCIS letter states?..

No issues - just ensure you take the GC and this letter.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

and look after it. It is so simple to misplace a single sheet of paper. This one is an important one that cannot, I would imagine, be easily replaced...

I took the extension letter, my stamped biometrics letter & greencard on my recent trip to London & had no problem. Immigration @ JFK looked at all of the above & in DC (I stepped out of the airport for a smoke) they looked at all of it PLUS my driver's license (?). If your wife's name is different in her passport vs. her USCIS documentation, take a copy of your marriage certificate, too. Delta wanted to see this when I was checking in, in Atlanta.
