i don't get the announcement sending, don't people knpw u got married do u still have to advertise? same with babies, everybody knpw they were born why telling them again?

Well, it can be a nice way to make people feel included in your celebration when you have a small ceremony, or also to announce name or address changes that come with the marriage. In our case, since it's on such short notice and most of his family couldn't attend a U.S. wedding, we're sending them out to announce name changes, share the link to the video and photos we'll have taken, and announce his new address here in the states.
