Matt is in France visiting his parents one last time before he moves here. He can't call the premium embassy line from France, and will not be going back to England until he goes for his interview. He can't e-mail them without the code, which he can't get without calling them. He refused to put down a travel date because he was too worried because he didn't actually have a set date, and thought that the officer might be alerted to that using the crystal ball they keep in thier desk. Even though I told him several times it might delay our interview as they try to acommadate others travel plans. His excuse was it didn't matter because he would just call them. Exactly. :bonk:

If we make it through this without me losing my mind with him it will be a miracle. As it is now we have to wait for him to recieve packet 4 at his address in England and his roomate will forward to him in France. Any suggestions as to how we can get in touch with the embassy about getting an interview scheduled before god only knows when?

You can call them from the US, but it isn't cheap.

This is from the Embassy website.

Callers from within the United States should dial 1-866-382-3589. Callers are charged a fixed rate of $16:00 for up to 7 minutes. Payment is by credit card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express only. Please ensure that you have your credit card details available when making the call. You will not be charged for the call until payment has been taken

Try having him write a letter and mail it to them. When people sent in packet 3 with a cover letter saying, "We'd like to travel by this date and would prefer an interview during the week of xyz," they were sometimes able to accomodate them.

Once they've received the letter they'll enter it into the system as a note on your file. You can call DOS from the U.S. (it's just a regular phone call) and see if they've made that notation and then call every day to see if the interview's been scheduled. No need to wait for them to forward the packet 4 to France to find out.

Naturalization

N-400 package mailed: 04/16/2013

N-400 package delivered: 04/16/2013

NOA1 date: 04/17/2013

Biometrics: 08/23/2013

Interview: 10/07/2013

Oath: 01/23/2014

DONE!

It's been less than a week since you sent packet 3 back (according to your time line). It takes 3-4 weeks (normally) to get an interview scheduled so, hang in there.

I think if you want to contact them without the expensive line, you might try snail-mailing them. It's a bit sneaky though!

I'd say that since the P3 was only returned 6/19, it is a bit premature to be contacting the embassy for pay or for free. I know the waiting is tough, but you will get there. :star:
