my friend got AP and they didn't take his passport , they said they will contact him later to send his pasport . its in Cairo embassy . cr1 . if any body can explain what this mean or what he can do with that ???? if they have not contact him by sept. the army will take him . all the work and money his wife and him put into this will be gone .. Administrative Processing...as far as I know it is extra background checks on names...etc that they do that can be quick or can take months! I'm sure others here can give you a more detailed answer, but I'm at work and can't get too much into it. I hope your friend's AP is super short! :thumbs:

Moving this to Embassy/Consulate forum, this is not an NVC process, sounds like an interview has happened.

Also PLEASE town the font size! IT LOOKS LIKE SHOUTING!

AP is just extra background checks, they were not complete before the interview.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Timeline

Administrative processing seems to be an everday thing in Cairo. Very few couples whether they are K1 or CR1 or K3 seem to make it through this embassy without going into AP. The bad part is they won't tell you how long to expect it to take. There is no easy answer.
