Dear Members,

Me and my wife had our green card interview in Cleveland on May19th, 09. The officer said he is going to approve the case and I'm gonna receive the card within 30 days. We didn't get anything yet. Infopass appointment said I have to wait for my internal obligation to get cleared, then I can bring that letter that my case is cleared and go to field office to stamp the passport with I-551. I called FBI they said my case was cleared and sent back to USCIS the same day my biometrics taken. I got my EAD by the way. Now I have 2 questions:

1: What do they mean by internal obligation ''background check''? How many check they run?

2: When I am supposed to receive a welcome notice?

3: My application visa center is MSC and filed to Chicago, do any one here please had a similar experience in Cleveland field office. or Missuori Service Center?

I just need to get at least a stamp as I need to travel MN for a job offer, and I called the airport they said I have to have at least the passport stamped as I can't travel with EAD.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks

FYI-You don't need a stamp nor greencard to travel within the US.

Thanks for your reply. What you are saying is just right when it comes to people with known immigration status, visitor, worker, ect, they can show a visa WITH I-94. Though my B1 visa still valid, I don't have I-94 anymore as the officer already took it. What I only have is EAD which is not a travel document like a visa with I-94 or green card, it just to show that you are authorized to work. So the point is, when i go airport, they well say what is your imkigration status? Well, ummm, my application is approved but they didn't send the card yet. Ok, show me the prove that is approved! Well, I don't have that prove. You see, what could I do that time?

Thank you anyhow for your response and I would appreciate any future response.
