We have been trying to stay ahead of the process a little bit here by taking care of some of the needed paper work for the Interview stage.

I have a few questions that I hope someone experienced could answer for me.

I am filling out the 3 forms needed for her ... forms DS-156, DS-157, and DS-156k ....

The reason I am doing it instead of her is quite frankly many of the cafes she goes to don't know how to help her download these files and she isn't quite comfortable by herself doing it.

So my question really is ... do I really need to fill in the part that asks if this form has been prepared by someone else? She is going to over look the information once she receives it and also sign it at that time ( Going to Fed Ex it ) ... anyone have any negative experiences doing it this way or what did you all do when filling these forms out?

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy and Jenelyn

I did the same thing and there was no problems...Yes, I filled in the part that asks if someone else filled it out for you.

I filled out pretty much every form for Karin (am just compulsive that way) and never once did I complete the "Did anyone fill in this form for you?" sections...

I'm sure it made no difference to anyone but just in case they asked at interview did anyone fill these forms for you, I wouldn't want my fiance to say yes and then it not say that on the paper...(cause im compulsive that way)

What they're asking (on the form) is geared toward attorneys or third-parties completing the forms - not the fiancé/spouse.

I filled out the forms for my fiancé and did not note that anyone filled in the form for her, though we talked through each question and I entered the information as she gave me the answers.

One thing that might save you some money is that you can save the completed forms as images or PDF files and email them as attachments. An image or PDF attachment should be able to be opened by most internet cafe owners.
