We got through the adjustment of status easily enough, and will be doing the removal of conditions in a few months. Since then, I've lost my job and haven't yet been able to find another one.

Will this matter for the removal of conditions? I know that they want to see income tax returns - is the amount of income important any more, or do they want to see the income tax just as part of the overall proof of valid marriage, same address, and so on?

Has anyone had a problem with being unemployed when filing for removal of conditions?

Dunno if you are the alien or the USC. At any rate, what they are mainly looking for at this stage is co-mingling of assets - and essentially proving your lives together. You'll note there is no affidavit of support for this filing (as there was for AOS). Tax returns (or better yet, tax transcripts from the IRS) are merely used to show that you've filed together (or filed as married, filing separately), and as such, are just further proof of your lives together.

Focus on proving that and you should be fine.

Besides, in this economy, I hardly think you'll be the only unemployed person filing...!
