People drive badly on the freeways in Los Angeles - the worst thing is that very few people there seem to be able to cope with changing weather conditions. Still see people barrelling along at 80mph bumper to bumper in driving rain. Its nuts.

Yeah I've seen some ridiculous crashes out here in NJ - and some really stupid risktaking by drivers being just lazy.

You'd think that when you miss your exit on the freeway or can't get over in time that you'd drive on to the next one and turn around. Not so! What people do here is stop in the fast lane, put their indicator on and wait for a gap. Either that or reverse up the freeway so they can take their exit.

Also not uncommon to see someone exit a freeway by doing a sharp turn from the fast lane. Its ridiculous.

How about right-exiting from a shopping-centre/mall directly into the leftmost lane of a major thoroughfare (in this case plenty of length so driver can easily exit to curbside and then "gradually" merge over--instead driver decides to hold up much traffic waiting to leave the mall).

Topping that, I've even seen this happen onto a major thoroughfare (specifically, in Calgary onto MacLeod Trail--the main southbound highway from the city).

This is why fog lights were invented (but they don't install them on cars here - at least not in CA).

I see that a lot too - people pull out of a driveway directly into the left lane.

Are you asking whether CA and FL would be amongst 10 best, or 10 worst (on latter, full-list, rankings from 42-51).

Have you ever had the experience of actually being tailgated by drivers wanting to pass you when you're actually technically speeding--and in an area where you cannot move over for the tailgater to pass?

(lots of times, this has happened to me along I-95 DC-Baltimore stretch--most just wait till there is a clear spot and move over after, but some either "bird" or cuss at the already-speeding driver they wanted to pass; and also once in Atlanta southside where I-85 merges to I-75).

If you took a poll & asked people "do you consider yourself a good driver?" almost everyone will say yes, but I see hundreds of idiotic drivers every single day in Atlanta (morons driving slow in the left lane, probably talking on a cell phone, are the worst). Also if there are two drops of rain traffic comes to an almost complete stop... all I can say is and

Yes, I've even been tailgated in those conditions when I was going the maximum speed (plus the 25% over, which is the law in Brazil, you can go over the speed limit by up to 25% before actually being pulled over, this to give a break in case people are passing other people, etc) AND behind a cruiser, like heck I'd go over speed limit with a Policia Rodoviaria (those are specific to highways and are the worst type as far as screwing you over goes) car in front of me!
