As long as it's voluntary, I don't have a problem with it, and I don't see it as a sign of weakness to use it. Or maybe it is, but everyone has a weakness of some kind. Hubby and I (nonshopper) went to Ikea a few days ago, and by the time we reached the end of that maze, I was imposing self-censorship, looking neither to the left nor to the right, just hoping to get out of there with our bank account still in the black. That doesn't mean that if I gave in to temptation, it would be Ikea's fault, though. They have the right to market their brains out, and it's up to me to find a way to say no. Koogle sounds to me more like a tool than a crutch.

I'm the USC.

The problem with censorship is you never know what has been screened out. It may be stuff you are not interested in anyway, but then again, it may not. Of course, this is voluntary so it's not the same as say the Chinese introducing a chip into the pc itself.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

ok I just told someone I was going to "koogle" something and she didn't even notice

Does she have a crystal ball?

I do have a question....is self-censorship another word for ignorance?

For willful ignorance maybe.
