Hello, I posted here once and got very good feedback. Which Im very thankful for. Now I have one more question...

Can somebody tell me... when exactly I can petition for my parents... relatives... once I become citizen... I just had my test and interview done.. now just send some papers and then ceremony and that should be it. Id like to petition for my parents very soon. Can I do it right away or is there any timeline I have to wait? Today a friend of mine told me he heard that there was 6 month waiting period from the date I become a citizen till I can petition....

I will appreciate any feedback...

Once you have naturalization cert in hand you can file the I-130s for your parents, you need to attach a copy of naturalization cert to each petition to prove that you are a US Citizen.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Your friend is wrong. The second you are sworn in as a US citizen, you have the same right as any other citizen. There is no 6 month period where you have less rights than another citizen. Many people who become US citizens submit petitions for their relatives on the same day. Some relatives would be eligible for visas within a year; a spouse, a parent, or an unmarried child under 21 years of age. Others will take many years (5-23 years); child over 21 years old, married child, and siblings - these people can bring their spouse and unmarried children under age 21 (age at the time visas are available, not at the time the petition is filed - children can age out after turning 21 years old and will not visas). You cannot file a petition for an in-law, uncle, aunt, grandparent, nephew, or niece.

Read this to see the different relatives you can petition for: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1306.html

thank you guys, so much!!!! ... B)

I mailed the I-130's for both my parents the same day that I had my oath ceremony. I had everything ready to be mailed and all I had to do was include 2 copies of the certificate with each application and then mail it.

Had no problems with doing that and my parents are having their interview next month and should be here in Aug.
