Hello guys,

my 1 yr extension would be expiring in less than 6wks whats the best thing to do???. My i-751 application has been pending for about 14months now and I got an RFE which i sent back to uscis with more evidence about 2 wks ago. Am curious and I wonder how long it will take them to make a decision. Any contribution would be appreciated.

Hi laface,

Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope it does take them too long to approve your case. Sending RFE means they are looking at your case. If you don't get anything let's say 30 days after you sent them RFE. Contact your congressperson/senator and ask for their immigration expert/liaison. He/she will email/fax you a release form to allow them to do an inquiry (all this free) and will get back to in couple days.

Normally I have seen this on VJ, this results in 99.9% approvals.

As extension, please get an infopass like 'Marilyn." suggest and ask them to give a I-551 stamp. They probably will take your 2 year GC away.

Good Luck.

Hi laface,

To get started with contacting your senator. Here's the link to locate the senator for your state.

http://senate.gov/general/contact_informat...enators_cfm.cfm

Choose your state and it will show you the senator and see both senators. For example the state of Texas, I have.

For Texas, its John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchinson...

Cornyn, John- (R - TX) Class II

517 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510

(202) 224-2934

Web Form: http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?...act.ContactForm

Hutchison, Kay Bailey- (R - TX) Class I

284 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510

(202) 224-5922

Web Form: hutchison.senate.gov/contact.html

Have a look at the instructions on the Senator's website.. http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?...FederalAgencies

So the senator for your state might have same thing. I think every senator has an immigration expert liaison. Once you

contact them via phone, tell your story and ask to talk to an Immigration Liaison or expert they will might send you

via email or fax a release form to do an inquiry.

Check with this couple of times in a week. If this doesn't work for say, couple of week make an in person appointment.

If let's for a month or so you tried using your senator's resources and it didn't work, try the congressperson in your state.

I hope it helps. Good luck and let us know how it went for you.
