I'm a natural born USC, I don't have to know civics.

Lucky you. However, some people on VJ aren't natural born citizens and do need to know at least some civics to pass the test and naturalize. :)

I bet you anything that someone being naturalized has better knowledge than a natural born US citizen. The test is a joke per se, since 70 % of the adult US citizens population in this great country can't answer 10 of those questions right now if you ask them. Don't get me wrong, all foriegners applying for USC should know the basics, which is more than what the rest of the US population knows.

Basically, they should have a read, write and speak "ENGLISH" tests. Beef it up a bit. And make english the official language of the USA. If you can't pass that, then no Citizenship for you. Just my opinion.

It is sad how little many natural born Americans know about their history and system of government. I was required to take civics in high school and again in college. I was under the impression that anyone with a high school diploma had to know some civics to graduate. Then I started seeing clips of Jaywalking on the Tonight Show. It's pretty embarrassing, really.

LOL, I had this same discussion with a co-worker today. So very true.
