i have a question my finace is from morocco, the embassy in casablanca is insistiing we get a police certificate from canada, my fiance has applied for a visa to go to canada in 2004, but was denied, now they want this certificate, what i was wondering is do we need the fingerprint one or can we do the name check one.seems like it would be faster,, just not sure.got some suggestions from cynget, many thanks, need to know asap, my fiance is going in the morning to do the fingerprints, but if we dont need that then we would rather do the other , but not sure how to do this from morocco, help pls Karen2705

MARCH 27 2007 FLIGHT TO CALIFORNIA

MAY 12,2007 MARRIED

AOS BEGINS

MAY 22,2007 MEDICAL EXAM AGAIN/ VACCANATIONS

JUNE 25,2007 MAILED AOS PACKET

JULY 3,2007 PACKET RECIEVED BY USCIS

JULY 11,2007 RECIEVED NOA 1 FOR EAD

JULY 14 RECIEVED NOA 1 FOR AOS

Hi, Karen!

If applying for an RCMP certificate from outside Canada, I don't think you have much choice but to send in fingerprints. :( If I'm wrong, somebody else here will probably correct me. I think the name check only works for people who are physically present in Canada.

Yes, and the Finger Print check takes many months. (4-6). So, even though they never went to Canada, they want a police certificate from Canada because she applied for a Visa to Canada.. how the heck did they even find out about that? You didnt tell them did you? When they ask if you have applied for a Visa before, they mean to the United States I think not anywhere in the world.
