Moving to "Bringing Family of USC" Forum.

Note US Citizen CANNOT file and I-130 for Niece, Nephew, Aunt, Uncle, In-laws etc.. Only immediate relatives.

You may want to start by studying the I-130 form's instructions Page 1.

This is a common topic in the "Family of USC" forum, a little looking will find similar questions.

USCIS is aware of adopting family members to allow them to immigrate to the US. Adoption is one step. Getting an immigration visa is another step. You can have a perfertly legal adoption and still not get a visa for the child.

In order for an adopted child to get a visa, the child has to be an "orphan" as defined by US immigration laws. If the child has two parents, then the child will not qualify for a visa even if legally adopted by an aunt or uncle.
