Hi everyone,

We are approved at USCIS May 15th both I-130 and I-129F. NVC sent the I-129F to Manila Embassy already, it is in transit, and today my husband received a letter from NVC for the I-130. The letter states a Case number for the I-130 and require a fee. We are considering changing status to CR1. The question I have is that my husband is coming to visit me in 3 weeks (June 24th) so do we have time for all the correspondence to be complete in just 3 weeks time or should we just continue the K3 due to lack of time? If we go through CR1, is my husband required to stay in the US while processing the CR1? Please help us.

It generally takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete NVC processing using the shortcuts but if you have everything ready with the papers waiting to be mailed, you can accomplish everything from abroad, as long as you have a friend or family member do the actual mailing.
