No Father's name on birth certificate

Hi guys,

There is a question on one of the forms (i-485, I beleive) about Father's name. What do you if Father's name is not on birth certificate (I beleive this is due to mother not being married to father in the old days)?

For father put "Unknown", IF Unknown. If not simply put known father there.

We're in the same situation and I just put "unknown". The BC that has no Father's name on it will prove it.

Answer "unknown" if that is the case. It is the case for my wife and we had no problems with visa or AOS
